Congratulations to These Agents on Ag/NR Accomplishments

Congratulations is extended to the following District 9 County Extension Agents who received recognition at the Annual Meeting of the Texas County Agricultural Agents Association. The Annual Meeting was conducted in Wichita Falls on July 17-20, 2011.

– Dr. William Johnson, Galveston County Extension Agent – Horticulture, received the Distinguished Service Award. This award is the highest award that a County Agricultural Agent can receive from the National Association of County Agricultural Agents (NACAA). Each recipient is selected by his peers based upon outstanding professional growth, program effectiveness, leadership ability, loyalty to Extension work, and civic and community involvement.

– Dr. Roy Stanford, Orange County Extension Agent – Agriculture and Natural Resources, received the Early Career Award. This award recognizes and encourages professional excellence for an agent with less than five years of service.

– Eric Zimmerman, Brazos County Extension Agent – Agriculture and Natural Resources, received the Outstanding Sheep and Goat County Extension Agent Award which was presented by the Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers Association.

– Dr. Anthony Camerino, Harris County Extension Agent – Horticulture, received 2nd place on his poster entry on “EVALUATION OF FUNGICIDES, FERTILIZERS, AND GROWTH REGULATORS FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF BLACK SPOT ON ZOYSIAGRASS, A NEW FOLIAR DISEASE IN TEXAS.”

– Aaron Sumrall, San Jacinto County Extension Agent – Agriculture and Natural Resources, was selected as District 9 Director to the Texas County Agricultural Agents Association.

– Ricky Thompson, Jefferson County Extension Agent – Agriculture and Natural Resources, was selected as District 9 Alternate Director to the Texas County Agricultural Agents Association.
